The Installation Process for TPO

There are a couple of steps including cleaning or removing the existing roof, before the installation of the insulation. There are three options for insulation:

• Polyisocyanurate (Polyiso) – Typically the more costly option, but has a higher R-value rating and the greater opportunity for a faster return on investment.
• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) – Known to have the greatest R-value per dollar. Known for not retaining water over time, it has also been used for wall and floor insulation.
•  Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) – Known as the blue, green or pink colored insulation, XPS lands in the middle when it comes to price and performance. It is semipermeable with a rating of 1.
